Whether it is the St. Paul's Church where Jim Corbett’s parents were married or the 150 year old Landour Language School or the Woodstock School or the old pre-colonial era cemeteries or the Sisters' Bazaar, there is more than enough for one to enjoy. Besides these, one could also take delight in sitting at the legendary Char Dukaan and enjoy endless cups of tea with a good book to give you company. This area is a treat for the compulsive shopper and offers bespoke experience of witnessing various artisans at work. The most popular items being customised footwear, home-made preserves and peanut butter, Himalayan Shawls, Stoles, Quilts and local handicrafts. On a lucky day, you could get a great bargain at one of the many antique shops in Landour Bazaar. Just as Landour is steeped in history, so does La Villa Bethany take you back in time to enjoy simple life. Being run as a boutique home-stay, each of its 6 tastefully done up rooms is a tribute to the founders of Landour. Capt. Young's Dining Hall and Mackinnon's study recreate the magic of the Colonial Era. The team at La Villa Bethany is conscious of its responsibility towards the Environment and Society. What started as an effort to conserve this heritage cottage and to employ & train underprivileged local youth has taken greater green dimensions. Every aspect of renovation and restoration has been carried out by local artisans using available resources. All soft furnishings and toiletries are organic and sourced from women’s self help groups. The emphasis on being ecologically responsible has ensured that they not on follow the mantra of three Rs – Reduce, Refuse & Reuse, but also use solar power to heat water, harvest rain water, turn kitchen waste into organic manure and segregate garbage for recycling.
A self contained traditional American style Cedar & Pine Log Cabin which can accommodate 4 - 5 adults easily. It has split levels with the double bed being on the lower level and two single beds on the mezzanine. It also has a small Kitchenette, a Study and a private Patio/Terrace.
