Young's Dining Hall and Mackinnon's study recreate the magic of the Colonial Era. The team at La Villa Bethany is conscious of its responsibility towards the Environment and Society. What started as an effort to conserve this heritage cottage and to employ & train underprivileged local youth has taken greater green dimensions. Every aspect of renovation and restoration has been carried out by local artisans using available resources. All soft furnishings and toiletries are organic and sourced from women’s self help groups. The emphasis on being ecologically responsible has ensured that they not on follow the mantra of three Rs – Reduce, Refuse & Reuse, but also use solar power to heat water, harvest rain water, turn kitchen waste into organic manure and segregate garbage for recycling.
